Changes are a coming!

While Blogspot has been making changes to their format, I've been unable to post any information on my blog. It seems finally, things may be up and running normally again.
Here is one of my new bowls with a mixed glaze. Since this picture was taken I've made about a dozen or so more and been experimenting with other glaze combinations. I'm awaiting the results from the studio where I have my work fired.
My plan is to finish my home studio and purchase a kiln so that I'm able to speed up the pottery process. Right now I only have control over making the pieces and glazing. The 2 firing needed between making and glazing my work is left to outside sources. That in itself can be trouble some. The turn around time can be lengthy, ( I've waited 22 day before just for the first firing) pieces getting chipped or broken are always a concern. Another problem with have my work fired at a studio were many different types of artist have their work fired at the same time, is that some glazes artist use can effecting the outcome of other glazes. But, that's the gamble you pay with public firing.
